Zilia Sánchez, another woman artist with a very distinctive body of work, with pieces that defy the boundaries between painting and sculpture. She says ‘I want to do things by myself, I have not allowed anyone to guide me’ (on 2018 video published on @elmuseo’s website)

She also says: ‘When one has ideas, it’s difficult for anyone to dominate you ... I like the freedom of things, and I continue being that free’. Zilia is 94 years young and continues creating.
